Welcome WHO WE ARE: Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, BOSQUE CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY, under the direction of clarinetist Loretta Krein, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring chamber music to under-reached areas of our community. By introducing chamber music to unreached communities, we hope to become a relevant part of our changing society and to educate the next generation on the value of this beautiful art form. When chamber music is made accessible to people, people discover that chamber music really is accessible! WE HAVE TWO FACES:
- TRADITIONAL: One face reaches a more traditional audience with more traditional music.
- OUTREACH: The other face goes out into the community to educate and expose people who would not otherwise attend one of our concerts. These programs are usually lighter and feature music that is easily accessible. When we mix in a few classical pieces, these are usually the audience favorites!
OUR CONCERTS:We perform in a traditional setting four times a year at the Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church. Our programming includes works from the standard repertoire as well as interesting works not often performed. Click Music in the Valley and Concert Schedule for information on upcoming performances. BOSQUE WINDS AND BOSQUE BRASS: BCMS now has two quintets: a woodwind quintet and a brass quintet. These two quintets are part of our outreach program. In addition to performing in our traditional concert series, these ensembles are available for performances, weddings, receptions, and other events. For more information, click Contact Us.
Bosque is the name for areas of riparian forest found in low-lying areas near rivers in the southwestern United States. It derives its name from the Spanish word for "woodlands" because of the dense forest of cottonwoods and other deciduous trees.
